Senioritus: Worse than the Plague?

At my high school, it seems as if everyone has a major case of senioritus. And it is not just the seniors, either. At any point in time, you can find someone skipping or talking about summer plans or graduation. Also, everyone is talking about the upcoming IB and AP exams. And, I don't think there has been a single day this semester, when I have not seen someone go off campus for lunch. What is wrong with everyone? It must be the senioritus. It is ridiculous. No one wants to be there anymore. Everyone is looking forward to moving on, but they can't. They are stuck for at least another two months - oh the agony. I would not even be thinking about it except for I hear people everyday talking about how hard it was to get out of bed this morning or how they plan to skip for lunch or how they are planning on going to Europe this summer. It seems as if every conversation is filled with how to get away from that place. But why is everyone so eager to get away from this place? I think it is because one person tells another and then they tell another and then all of the sudden everyone is talking. Everyone has realized that the only reason they are there is because they have to be to get to where they really want to be. It kills me having to sit in English and have to talk about the symbolism of rain for the umpteenth time, but if I want to graduate what else am I to do? I am not free to do what I want until I am done with that wretched place. If everyone hates being there, yet has to go, are they really free? Why must I be trapped there and why must everyone remind me of it?
