I just decided to start college this year. As far as a major goes, I haven't made up my mind. This is where you readers come in and give me a lil' boost. I have done a bit of research on some professions, as far as required courses, main duties, and of course yearly salary. I would like to get some feedback from those of you who already have a major in mind and are studying/preparing for it now, and from those of you who already majored and are currently practicing it. I would like to know what intruigued you in choosing your career. What does your typical day (when it comes to either preparing for your major or if you're practicing it already) consist of? Do you enjoy/think you will enjoy this type of work/career? Give me details, experiences, etc. Let me know whatever you think might be helpful, I will truly appreciate your time in responding and giving me a little feedback. If you know of any websites, books, or offices where I can go and get useful information let me know. Do you know of any programs that help to cover costs? Thanks, again, for your time! :) :)

Engineering...

I get paid for internships. I love my job (s). It's intellectually challenging, fun, and I meet interesting people on a regular basis.

i fought with that question for a long time too and i think the only advice i can give you...which has probably been given before is to look at the type of things you like to do now and find a career that does that. Im doing art therapy because i love art and i find psychology fasinating. if you don't do something that interest you in your everyday life...doing it every day in your career will just wipe you out in a few years.

Pick something you love doing. Then find a career in it. The whole point of going to college imo is to find a job you will absolutely love doing it.

For instance, my friend absolutely loves reading manga and drawing comics. So, she could go to college and study comic drawing, writing, Japanese culture, art, etc. She could get internships during college, and when she graduates, write her own comics part time, and part-time do drawing for writers, or graphic design, or teach drawing, etc.
