After the Columbine shooting in 1999 in which 13 people were killed and 24 injured it seems amazing how many troubled people have embarked on a mission to do the same. After that horrendious day, the two shooters commited suicide leaving many people were wondering; what simply drove those 2 teens over the edge and commit one of the most deadliest school killings in U.S history. Some people pointed fingers at the parents, others school officials, government, and even video games. But readly (except of course for the victims or their families) the 2 teens are blamed for their actions. It is true that many of the things mentioned could've played a big part in this tragety, and if maybe teachers and parents would've taken the time to investigate the real lives of these teens maybe..just maybe this could've been prevented.Recently there have been similar shootings that have resulted in a larger casuality, such as the Virginia Tech shooting just last year, where 32 people were killed. So in reality who's to blame?
Personally, I believe many things played a part in both of these shootings, but ultimately i believe the perpetrators should be the main focus. The parents are the easy target to blame because they were the caregivers, the people who should've realized that something was wrong, but when was the last time a teenager allowed an authority figure into their lives? The teachers admitted that the two Colombine killers excibited traits that made them suspect something was going on but never bothered to follow it in dept, since its true that many times kids will be kids, and because of the lack of security. The government was blamed because of the way these kids obtained the weapons, and it was criticized because t the process to obtain guns (whether there was a middle man or not) was way to easy. Lastly both kids played violent games and many psychologist believed that being exposed to such games for a prolonged period of time can lead to behaviors that immitate the game. So in reality who was to blame for these trageties? Well You tell me.
School shootings, Who's to blame?

Sure, the two gunmen should be the ones to blame, but what about the kids, who confessed that the two men stated they were going to do this, should they not be blamed as well?
And what about the bullies who bullied those two boys?
Heh, allow me to just jump in here to state that blaming video games is asinine. Media may desensitize you to some extent, but playing a video game doesn't turn you into a stone cold killer, just as playing Happy Bob's Hug Simulator will not make you a happy, friendly person.
The truth is that these issues go deeper than what games are played, what music is heard, or what movies are watched. Blaming it on media is, with all due respect, a bit of a cop out.
