People are always talking about how bad myspace is. well i have news for you. MY SPACE IS NOT BAD. its all how u use it. i own a myspace account. i like it alot. if you want you can set your profile to private. that way only your friends can read your stuff. some people do take andvantage of it. however if you dont add any body to your list that u or ur friends dont know than they cant get to u. all i do is talk to friends that i havent seen in a while. its really all how u use it. if ur careful, sexual creeps cant find u.u should try it sometime.

You can be super careful and sexual predators can still get to you.
They do this little thing called "lying", it's pretty effective.

Myspace, the internet, all our wonderful forms of high-speed communication. Not bad, not good?
Perhaps they tend to be more bad than good.
Certainly they can be used positively - socializing, information sharing, whatever uses we eventually will come up with.
Problem is, people tend to be careless. And when you're careless online, it gets spread and exploited much more than if you're careless at home.
For instance - the sexual predators bit. In "real life" you have more natural skepticism, and some safeguards that aren't there online (you can see the person, for one).
So myspace can be bad, because it magnifies your mistakes. Use with caution.

well then technically going by your classification all websites are bad... so no myspace is not bad it has negative effects just like everything else in the world. put its not myspace thats bad its some of the people. myspace is basically the same as any other website theres just a little more risk.

people tend to be careless because their mother never told them not to talk to strangers or they didn't listen to her...
Myspace is not bad. People are just stupid. I don't know why these fourteen-year-olds haven't learned anything after all those rape stories. Even when I was thirteen, when online predators weren't quite so ubiquitous, I knew how to handle online "acquaintances." And I wouldn't claim to be the brightest thirteen-year-old ever alive.
I'm a fan of myspace. I have a myspace. I use my myspace to interact with friends I never see. I add people...and I will admit to adding people I dont know only because most of those people just want to have a ton of friends and I know how to handle myself on myspace so it's not a big deal.
I don't understand the point of adding people that you don't know to your friends list. Why would you claim to be friends with someone you don't know? What happens when one of those mysterious adds is linked to a murder, and the last message to be sent from his myspace was to you?

Katie says she adds friends that are people she doesn't know, but that's ok, they just want big friend numbers.
You can keep yourself safe, but you tend to trust that your friends will too, and they are just as imperfect as you.

You know how easy sexual predators can reach kids on myspace?
Myspace, Facebook, and many others make it easy for sexual predators to track down younger children, most pre-teens and teens jump at the chance when someone wants to friend them. Yeah sure, you can be cautious and careful, but there have been many cases where a sexual predator has gotten only small threads of information and has been able to find someone.
go on myspace, set your privacy settings so u have to appove all your friends and dont add anybody who havent met in person. its not that hard.
