The USDA is trying to implement a federal program that will help track diseases in animals. This requires the registering of show animals or recreational animals. This ranges from chickens to cows, but will not include cats or dogs. Farmers are complaining that this will be too much paperwork and enventually become costly to them. I think this is a good idea considering the rise of the bird flu.
