People

Why are people so stupid and closed minded? I am a lesbian and i have a girlfriend and all either of us want is to be accepted for who and what we are. Being gay IS NOT a choice. It is how you are born. You do not choose not to be straight and most gays/ bis would rather be straight than be not straight because it is easier. People don't accept us because we are different and that is stupid because everyone strives to be different from the norm. No one wants to be like everyone else. People also don't accept us because they say it is against the bible. But the bible and faith states that you are suppose to love people no matter what. They say love thy neighbor and friends and all that jazz but being homophobic goes completely against that. Just because someone isn't the same as you and doesn't have the same beliefs as you do is no reason to not like someone. Being gay is the same as that. Gays may not like the opposite sex and they may not act like everyone else but we are still human and we still deserve to be loved. We still deserve to have friends. Judge people because of who they are not what they look like or what their sexual orientation is. A person is a person no matter who they are, what they are like, or who they like.

I totally agree with you. I'm straight and I have no problem with gays/lesbians. Most of my really good friends are gay or bi. I have no problem with it. So what they love somebody of the same sex. Who cares. Let them love. I think people who cant except that are the ones who should be hated not the gays/lesbians. The gays and lesbians arent doing anything wrong!!!

You're right about everything you've said.

But I mean of-course people are going to stare. It's something out of the norm. It doesn't mean they hate you guys, it's just something different.

some really good points. I completely agree with what you've said.
I think most people who are firmly "against" the glbt community were raised that way, in a close-minded environment where anything straying from what the parent(s) wanted was unacceptable.
Good post though.
