THE POLICE CAN NOT PROTECT YOU-WE ARE ALL LIVING A LIE

Many people wonder why there are so many child abuse cases that are only reported when it is too late.  People wonder what else can be done.

The truth is there IS NOTHING you can do.

Child abuse laws are so corrupt and twisted, the police and social workers have absolutely NO power in protecting you and getting you help. There is no way the police can take you out of your house, out of an abusive situation without your parents permission. PARENTS PERMISSION!?! How ridiculous is that! The police are giving the people that are abusing you, a choice. And OF COURSE they are not going to let you go!  They love the power and they'd never admit to doing something wrong. And now, they are only going to beat you up for even bringing up such an idiotic claim.

One policeman stated that he was responding to a call and the little boy had a black and blue eye. But he said he couldn't do anything because there was no "immediate danger." And he left. Immediate danger!!?! That kid was just thrown around his house just a little bit ago and now he is probably going to get thrown around even worse since the police came and left without accomplishing anything.

I, too, have had a personal experience with this. One night last year, the police were called. And I was led to believe by false information that the police could do more for me than they actually could.

They just starred coldly into my eyes and said, "There is nothing we can do for you."

I was speechless. I was so frustrated and angered at how they could just look blankly at my face and feel nothing, and do nothing.  All they said to me was, "What do you want us to do? There is nothing we can do for you. No, we can't do that. What do you want us to do?" That night I was worse off after the police left than before they arrived at my house. And do you know why this is? Because stupid, immature teenagers would abuse the law just to get out of their house for the night. This is their excuse for not wanting to get involved.

And I say, WHO CARES!!?!! These laws are killing thousands of kids, and for what? Because some idiots might slip through the cracks? Government doesn't want to help those in need just because of the risk of lawbreakers. So many people break the law everyday. But when it comes to something that is actually important, they want nothing to do with it.  But i mean, who actually knows the laws in this country? Wouldn't it be worth the sacrifice? Wouldn't you want to give the people that are hanging on by a thread, a fighting chance?

The child abuse laws need to be reformed. If the police are called, if they sense something is truly wrong, the police should have the ability to take you out of your house for the night. They can take you to a safe place, where ever you tell them to go. The next day, once your parents are shocked into reality that action will be taken to secure your safety, they go for counselling separate from you. The social worker discusses everything with you. And not until then, a decision will be made to either go back home or stay somewhere else while your parents get the proper help.

Not until all of this is made legal, can we say, we have done everything we can to help.

If your in an abusive situation, call a social worker, look into emancipation if you're old enough, talk to relatives, do anything to get out of it. Talk to a teacher at school - they're trained to deal with that kind of situation.

However, there are reasons behind the laws. Many times kids don't know what constitutes abuse. Getting grounded isn't abuse. (I'm not saying that's what your situation is. However, I'm certain that it's been claimed before) Many kids, without thinking, might try to frame their parents or pretend that they were abused. Frankly, kids can be dumb. And in general, because of societal norms, parents have certain rights over their kids, and the kid's claims rarely take precedence over these. It would be great if we could provide appropriate care and help for every situation, but police have to follow quite a few rules and have to make enough decisions subjectively that it wouldn't be wise to have them decide where a kid will stay. That's a decision best left to judges, who are trained in making good decisions about that kind of thing.

But back to you, talk to your teacher, guidance counselor or someone else liek that.

Police can't always do something if there is not enough evidence that a crime was committed, since they get sued just about any time they arrest anyone anymore.

However, calling social services sees a bit more action.
