don't force your beliefs on me

I am not a religious person at all. I don't have a Bible nor have I ever gone to church..But there is nothing wrong with that. I don't believe, so what? I complitelly respect people who do believe and who are deeply religious. Nothing wrong with that either. Actually I think it's something to admire in people. I have never tried to convince some one who believes not to. And that's why I would like for people who are religious to stop trying to convert me and get me to believe in something i don't. I especialy hate it when someone tells me that i will will burn in hell. Why? JUst because i have never read the Bible?Just because I have never gone to church?Really?does that make a bad person?Don't think so.
The latest incident happened at work last week. The girl who was training me asked me if I had a boyfriend and I told her I did and for some reason she did not really like that. So the next ay she brings me a book for young people that is all about how dating is bad, how sex before marrige is a big No and basicly it's about relationships from religious point of view.Thats all fine and good but not for me, and I returned the book to her and thanked her and told her that religioun is no my thing. and than she become all aggresive and asked if i had a Bible in house and i told her I didn't. So that made her even more upset and she wanted to know why.And the after that she was giving me these weird looks all day.
The other thing that happened resently too was that one of my best friends ask me if he coukd send me Bible and I told him he could but i don't have any plans on reading it. He got all mad at me and did not talk to me for months.
Not to mention numerous friend in high school and now in college who have tryed to make me believe and told me that if I don't let God in my life i will be spending eternity in hell.
I'm sorry but I do not need to read Bible to know what is wrong and what is right, like one of my friends suggested, thakfully my parents thought me that.
So my point is if I respect people who are religious and don't try to change the why than is everyone trying to hane me?All i'm asking is for people to respect the fact that I do not belive.

Wow I am surprised by this post. I hate to judge and stereotype but most people who don't believe in god are spiteful and hate people who believe. I am glad you are open minded because most people who don't believe are very closed minded and normally say "What is your proof that God exists."

I hate people who push thier religion on to someone. This ends up happening alot and I want to scream at the person and tell them: "I don't want to be part of your religion because I don't believe in religion."

This is the weird part. I believe in God, but I don't believe in religion. I am not part of a religion. I used to be and they had all of these stupid rules. Live life. why go by rules that you don't even know are for a fact true or not? I am also skeptical of the bible. People lie. People fabricate things.

I am not going to live a lie by being part of a religion. Yes I believe but I still have questions. Thank you so much for being open minded and not judging others. It is the same for me I don't like to judge. People should be more respectful of your beliefs as I am for everyone. No one knows where they are going when they die. People are ignorant and close minded and this I believe is what is corrupting the world.

"most people who don't believe in god are spiteful and hate people who believe" Sigh. No, most people who don't believe, and who talk about it, are willing to break the ultimate taboo and criticize religion, which too many people take as an insult. It is not. It is an honest criticism of a belief system we do not ascribe to.

And, why is it closed-minded to ask for proof of something?

"It is the same for me I don't like to judge. People should be more respectful of your beliefs as I am for everyone."
You don't judge people? You are respectful of their beliefs? Did you read the first paragraph you wrote? Is it some sort of satirical statement that I just don't get?

I didn't mean to word it that way. What I was trying to say is that alot of people who don't believe feel they should critize people who do. It goes the same way with someone who believes they try to get the "non-believers" to believe. Just leave them alone.

Overly religious people are some what closed minded and so are SOME people who don't believe. People who don't believe (some) say they are certain there is no god. People who believe say they are certain there is a god for a fact. This is being closed minded in my opinion because you don't know for a fact god exists and for a fact he doesn't. Many people want to start arguements because they feel their belief is the right belief.

No one knows whether there is a god or there isn't a god. I want proof just as much as anyone else, but I am not going to tell someone who believes that there is no god, and I am not going to tell a non believer that there is.

I get critized all the time because I won't conform to a religion and I honestly don't know what to believe in.

I was not trying to judge anyone I am just trying to make a point which is no one knows who is right so what is the point in arguing?
