Part of my spanish homework is to write summaries about current events, so I chose this one from BBCmundo.com. Even though I'm in AP, I'm far from fluent, so please, bear with me.

Your Spanish is good, and definitely readable. I can't believe that they wanted to destroy all of the trees! Rainforests are rapidly disappearing on this planet and we need to preserve them as best as we can. I'm glad that satellite technology has helped to solve this cultural issue, so that the natives may continue their daily lives in the forest and continue to worship their sacred trees. I think that preserving cultures is extremely necesarry to the understanding of human relations. Is this nation the Congo or the Democratic Republic of the Congo? I know that you said the Republic of the Congo, but one is a republic and one has republic in the name, so it could be either one. In the Democratic Republic of the Congo (formerly Zaire), terrible atrocities have been occurring, and the United States has been too occupied with its oil interests in the Middle East to aid the failing African nation. I hope one day to visit the Congo region. One more note, you may want to translate this into English so that more users will comment.
