Could you live without a mirror? Maybe just for one week. Could you go through 7 days straight without looking at yourself in the mirror? Probably not.
Why is today's society so obsessed with the way we look? Every single day, thousands of people look at their reflection in the mirror and wish they could be someone else. They want to be thinner, prettier, change their face shape, skin color, hair color, eye color.
All of this focus on looks has lead to a plethora or individuals affected by an eating disorder. Whether is may be anorexia, bulimia, an addicition to food, or a binge and purge thought process, most of today's population experiences one of those mentioned.
So how exactly do we truly know what we look like? Is the sole purpose of looking in the mirror for reassurance of appearance? If, supposedly, a camera adds 10 pounds, then how do we know what we truly look like when we are used to seeing ourselves in these photographs? And when most people see themselves as something different when they look in the mirror, where is the truth hidden?
So I challenge you, try to start with just one day without a mirror. If you have a mirror in your bathroom, look at the sink instead. Try and see if you can get through a full day without the use of a mirror. If you're thinking "Well I need it for my hair!" then take a good long look inside yourself, and realize what we're promoting.
I'm guilty, I look in the mirror countless times a day, and I'm not saying we need to get rid of all mirrors, but maybe we could start by transfering our emotions based on how we feel instead of how we look.

OK - so it would be tough - but you don't wanna go out with food stuck between your teeth - or a booger hanging out of your nose - I'll see if I can go a day!
I could totally go a day without looking in a mirror. Your challenge shall be met!!
Of course, I'm a little less into caring what I look like to other people. I still care, but it's not the obsession that I see in other girls.

Well shit - I am not a girl and I still care what I look like to other people - vain maybe a bit - but probably some insecurity - but maybe I just wanna look good
I could definitely go a day without looking in the mirror - it will just have to be a day I don't plan to leave the house!
