There are always two sides to one story. In bringing that up, there are generally more than two sides of the story! If an event took place and you asked twenty witnesses to tell you what happened there would be differences from story to story, and none of them would be the same.
It's exactly the same thing with politics and the going-ons of the world. For one, the media doesn't show you everything. What they like to do is show us the bad things, or the main things that are occuring. They don't try to show you the little things, or the things that wouldn't necessarily captivate and hold your attention for lengthy amounts of time. The media caters to an audience that falls back on the familiar and gets caught up in what's right in front of them. People don't read deeper into a story. Not generally in any case.
For example, take politics. I was raised in a highly democratic family, and that was all I heard. I remember when Bush was first elected and everything I heard was, "We're voting for Gore. Go Gore. Yay Gore." I never once heard anything spoken about Bush, nor did anyone say anything about that side of the story. It continues on today. A year ago I would have looked at you like you had grown five heads if you told me that the republican side could be correct, and that it was actually the democrats who sided against something I supported. If I had been told that one day I'd listen attentively and take to heart the things our present president was saying I'd laugh at them and tell they were crazy.
This was because I was never taught to look at both sides of the equation. There's always another part of things people should take into consideration.
Many people say that they do look at both sides of the story and base their opinions fully on that, but a lot of the time it isn't true. They look at their side, cast a glaring glance at the opposite and go right on believing without even listening to the other perspective.
Which brings me to the truth and lies... and perspective, but that my dears, is another story.

And unless people are open minded and sincerely care, they will not look at both points of view. They will keep believing wha they have known all along.
there are two sides to a story sometimes we all need to remember that
