WHO DO YOU VOTE FOR??
The U.S. primaries for the presidential candidates are almost over. The election of who is to become president start in only a few months. Millions of young people are eager to vote for the first time. And does anyone know what the hell they’re voting for?
As with driving a car, young people have much faster reflexes, while older people have much more experience and perspective. This is the same sort of concept when it comes to the 2008 elections; and all previous American elections for that matter. But why is voting this year so important? It’s important because our nation is in a time of stress. We are still at war in Iraq, and the US economy is said to be declining. Many moral issues have spurred much controversy and dispute. Our nation is in a very delicate state right now, and it is extremely important to elect the right leader into office.
As of right now, there are three candidates left for presidency, Hillary, Obama, and McCain. Both Hillary and Obama are liberal democrats, while McCain labels himself as “Republican”. It is already evident that Obama is leading in popularity due mostly in part to his disposition. Though I stand conservative in most issues when it comes to politics, Obama would actually be my first choice out of these three candidates.
I find politics very interesting. I also find it somewhat annoying sometimes, because of the way polititions go about things. Many are ruthless, and often talk bad about their opponents. But let me tell you why I like Obama. I regret to say that I don’t know a whole lot about the candidates that are running right now, but I do have an opinion. Hillary comes across as a sly and strategic person. She is quite smart intellectually, but many of her agendas are in question among voters. What is Hillary really like? I don’t really know, and that’s why I wouldn’t vote for her if I was of proper age. Our elections this years are unique in that we have a black candidate, and a woman candidate. Not that this is wrong by any means. Hillary has a mysterious side to her, and just because she’s the first woman candidate, I don’t think she has a good chance against Obama.
McCain is the only republican left, surprisingly. Many conservatives disagree that McCain is indeed conservative himself. Some of his domestic and foreign policies reflect conservative principles, but as far as moral issues, his beliefs will ultimately ruin his campaign. In one sense, McCain would have a good chance against the democratic opposition, because there are many republicans in the United Sates that would not vote democrat. However, many of the conservatives in this nation strongly disagree with McCains views on abortion and homosexuality. This analysis of Hillary and McCain have lead me to believe that ultimately voters will vote for all Obama or none at all.
McCain and Hillary will still get votes, however the majority of the popular votes I predict will go to Obama. Many of the republicans that would never think of voting for someone who supports abortion may not even vote at all. That’s why I say that the Presidential election will probably be an all or nothing type of thing. Either way, someone has to win, and I think that Obama will.
From what I know about Obama, he came from a humble family who understands the life of hardships. He speaks well, and relays his message across in a clear way. Though his is liberal, Obama is also radical. I like his radical approach to things. It means that he is not afraid of getting things done, and I think that is the most important quality of a leader. Another very important quality of a leader that I feel Is necessary, is the input of the American people. After all, we do live in a democratic government, in which the people should rule. I don’t know how Obama would react to the input of the American people. But I trust that it would be more responding than either Hillary or McCain.
Obama is a liberal. So this is good for a liberal voter, and preferably not as good for a conservative voter. However, Obama is very smart. He comes across as extremely caring. He gets in touch with the youth of America which I feel is vitally important. And Barack Obama is a man that wants change in our nation and who is willing to make it happen. I too feel that this nation needs a change, and my hope is that Obama can give us the right change, and listen to the American people as he governs, just as any president should do. I trust Obama to do this over Hillary and McCain.
Barack Obama for 2008!
Who do you vote for??

I'm voting Obama all the way. Young voters are going to sway the election if they care enough to learn a little about the issues. I've noticed talking to the so-called young people that alot of them are one-issue voters which never turns out good in the end.
I think it's a huge mistake that our electoral system ignores voters until they turn 18, instead of getting them involved earlier so that they can make informed opinions even before they reach voting age. And I think Obama genuinely cares about younger voters engaging in the process.
I agree 100%. I am voting for Obama too!! I am really excited about this presidential election becuase this is the first one I have actually been eligible to vote in. I believe that Obama has the best chance of uniting the country, and changing it in a positive way. I also agree that it is the young people who will decide this years election, so please go vote!
Ron Paul. He's more radical than Obama is, imho.
At least with Hilary because power is her main focus she will do whatever she needs to do to get it and that means giving into Republicans for some things then she will do it. Obama on the other hand is all about pounding out any opposition to his ideas. Should he become President our freedoms will be eroded and quickly. This is the same man who called his future grandchildren "punishments" to his daughters. This is the same man who told America to learn Spanish or else. This is the man who said he never heard his preacher say racist remarks about America and got caught in that lie! This is the man you want for the President. Obama is a snake. People are waking up to this man's real agenda which is to stamp out democracy and replace it with his socialistic agenda. Ask the Chinese whether they enjoy living in a communist country. Hopefully there are enough intelligent voters who can see past his smooth-talking (Hitler was a smooth talker too!) rhetoric and can see him for the poison he really is. We need Obama like we need our head cut off (and we all know how much Barack loves jihadists)
