In my city, the murder rate is up from last year. I am so frustrated with the amount of senseless violence I see too many African American use against each other. This does not make much sense to me. If you do not like a person, just do not talk to them or find a positive way to break the ice. Gun violence is absolutely crazy. I wonder did anyone teach these people how to act like civilized individuals. It seems they were not raise and brought up with love. Whether or not this is the case or not, people must learn how to control their actions. Thinking of the consequences before acting on emotions would keep so many individuals out of the grave. This is the 21st century, but it seems like instead of evolving, people are regressing to animalistic behavior. Fighting and killing make no one tough. The ability to walk a way before a situation gets heated is what makes a person tough.
Also, this situation irks me, but my peers at school talk about sad they are for a second or two, and then the conversations of prom and etc. come into play. How can people think about spending outrageous loads of money on materialism while there are people dieing. If people were truely sad violence and murder circumstances would not be occurring. But no, everyone cares about each other. That is absolutely a lie. If people cared, I would not have to read about who gets shot. I remember Tupac said in one of his songs something like "nobody cares who get shots." Afterall, if it not concerning you or someone you know, why should you care? It isn't like it affects you, right? I hope people will change there attitudes eventually.

Your city sounds like my city. Our violent crime rate has rose steadily for several years now. It took an increase in the murder rate to even get people to pay attention to what was happening. It's ridiculous.
It's going to take an uphill battle to change attitudes. In many African American communities, you're told flat out that you do not talk to the cops about anything at all. That's a scary sentiment and it's being swallowed up by younger generations like water. Society has to change that.
