Pitbull Pandemonium

happy dogs I love my pitbull, Buddy. He turned a year old yesterday. He is a happy dog who cowers when geese fly overhead, and runs to meet me when I get home. He is pretty well behaved other than chewing up an occasional pillow or paperback. He sits when I tell him to, and when we walk, he lies down when another dog approaches, waiting until I tell him it is ok to visit. Then he sniffs and plays with the other dog.

Most of the people in my neighborhood enjoy Buddy and have no fear of him. But others look at him as a menace, or as an evil stain on the neighborhood. He has never shown aggression towards anyone or anything. Yes he chases squirrels in the back yard, but so did my lab.

Is Buddy loyal? Yes? Sweet and affectionate? Absolutely. He loves to sit with the family and eat his dinner when we do. Not everyone is a Micheal Vick. I would never teach a dog to be aggressive and I would never teach my dog to fight. A pitbull was even the dog in the series "Our Gang."

I saw a slogan that said; "Punish the deed, not the breed."  I think we should just punish the idiots who don't raise their dogs correctly and abuse them. So please don't judge a book by its cover, and don't judge my dog, because he is a pitbull.

Not all pitbulls are monsters. Actually, maybe I should rephrase: An pet is only dangerous if it's trained to be that way. Your Buddy is a loving family pet and treated well, so he turned out like he should.

And if these other people keep bothering you about their dog stereotyping, you could always whisper loud enough for them to hear: "Buddy, KILL!"

*Cheers!*

My stepdad used to have a Doberman that would smile on cue. That's how well trained she was. Shame some jackass didn't like her and poisoned her, though.

The supposedly "vicious" breeds are some of the biggest babies I've ever seen, assuming they're raised right.

VERMONT!!!!!!!!
lol

Did you see Letters from Iwo Jima? Amongst all the horrible death of soldiers and there were only 2 scenes when the audience was affected. One, when a dog was shot off-screen. And the other was when a horse was killed in a bomb raid.
