Sitting at work, completely bored, I was reading an article on www.msnbc.com
called "How far will Democrats go on gay rights?" tells of the house of
representatives - now controlled by the democrats (yay for us!) -
voting in the near future on gay and lesbian job protection. The gray
area of this bill will be the transgender workers. Will they be given
the same protection in the work place?
Of course it would be easy enough to sit here and complain about how
this decision should be made with no questions asked and that it should
apply to everybody no matter what your gender, race, religion, sexual
preference etc. And WHY is it SO difficult to accept people for who
they are? - of course all of those things are how I feel about the situation...we do live in a nation that is supposedly a "melting pot" (as I've been told in school since...forever) - But, obviously it
isn't that easy, and obviously not everybody feels the same way I do. If that was the case, the world would be perfect....right?
There always has been and always will be prejudice and I think we
should look at this as a HUGE step in the right direction in fighting
against prejudice in our government. So no matter what stance you take on the issue, be proud that the government is becoming more tolerant of our differences...I know I am.

The Democrats are definitely more gay friendly than the Republicans. But I'm not so sure if they would go so far to allow gay marriage. Yet. In the future, it might be possible. And I have no doubt that gays will EVENTUALLY get married with each other. I just wish people would be more open to sexuality.
