A lot of people are getting into this site called postsecret.com. So I deceided, after seeing my friend Erin's book (which, I must admit, seemed really cool) I checked out the site. And let me say, the first picture I saw really shocked me. And then it made me really sad that this girl saw herself as ugly and that it made her want to kill herself. Is our society really that bad that we all just want to go outside and kill ourselves to get rid of the pain that we feel inside? If only that girl knew the love that God has for her...or if she had someone to lean on. I don't know if she got any "help" from sending it in to postsecret or not. You see, postsecret is a site where people send a postcard with a secret written on it. The post card is then published (eventually) on the site. They put up new ones every Sunday. Your postcard could even be put in a book.
The one that I really liked in a book was this ticket. The secret was written on a parking ticket. It said this:
The other day, I got a parking ticket and so did the car next to me. I switched the tickets. My ticket was paid. The other ticket? I sent it in to postsecret.
I realize that is really horrible. I would scream at the person if I really knew who it was. But right now, it just seems funny. I really laughed when I read that. I hope that doesn't make me a horrible person. Although, we all make fun of each other, so it certainly doesn't make me a bad person.
Anyway, I just thought I'd share with you the new way to "express" yourself. While you can set up a blog so that no one will ever know what you look like and write about all the horrible things you've ever done, I guess sending it into postsecret is more interesting.

I love postsecret. It really says something about our society, doesn't it? I saw the same postcard and I laughed, too, and I'm a pretty good human being. So don't feel bad about it. It really is funny in light of the other, darker secrets. But they are all incredibly affecting.
I hope more people continue to discover postsecret...
