Oh man... this should be interesting.

I've been mulatto since i was born.(well.. obviously)

[[def. Mulatto: A child of one white parent and one black parent]]

for me, my mom's a tall blonde lady from Wisconsin, and my dad's a tall African from seirra leone.

when i was growing up, I would always ask my mom if I was adopted. i would ask her everyday if i was adopted, if maybe they got me mixed up with her real baby in the hospital. i could NOT understand how I didnt look anything like her. she was my mom.

i didnt believe i wasnt adopted untill I saw the pictures of my mom holding my pale body against her chest in the delivery room. the fact that her face didnt have a look of shock on it meant she had to know i was hers.

her little brown girl.

growing up sucked though. once i got out of elementary school where everyone hung out with everyone, and we were, in a way, free. we didnt know who we wanted to be or what we wanted to do any we were ok with that.

then middle school came. junior high, whatever you wanna call it.

this was the turining point. people expected you to act a certain way. to fall into the pre-set stereotypes they'd learned, and accepted and were teaching. whether they liked it or not.

now came the race issue. i'm not white, but i'm not black... so...?

to be continued.....
