Condolences and aid pledges poured into Indonesia from the United Nations, European Union and individual nations after a magnitude 6.2 earthquake today in central Java that killed more than 2,000 people and left thousands injured.
The temblor struck at 5:54 a.m. local time near to the city of Yogyakarta. Most damage occurred further south in Bantul, where homes and buildings collapsed.
The extent of fatalities makes this the worst natural disaster in the Southeast Asian nation since the tsunami of Dec. 26, 2004. About 200,000 people have been displaced by the earthquake. The death toll has been rising steadily through the day. Indonesia's social affairs ministry most recently said 3,068 people were killed.
It seams to me that the nature is getting more and more angry with us every day.

Pointless. Might as well send some help down the toilet bowl.
thats nature for you she is mad
Yes, it is mad, because lately she produced so many tragedies.
Earthquakes are a part of life on earth. The best we can do is to offer aid to those affected.

Of course we have to offer aid to those we need, if we can. I know that the States already said that they will offer Indonesia its support if they ask for it.
I did this too, and I think it is good that the US is willing to help them out. It is such a tragedy.
