I must say that identifying the perfect political party for me is ever so difficult. It's almost impossible. I am so against any political party right now that I've not involved myself with any of them. Overall, I cannot think of one party that isn't operating for the purpose of gaining some dominance over the people of the US and satisfying their own agenda.
"To define is to limit," (Oscar Wilde). Political parties get into ruts. For example, the Democrats and the Liberals generally believe that abortion is the free will of the woman, and that medicine should be socialized. Whereas, the Republicans generally believe that abortion should be outlawed and that medicine should remain Capitalistic. The parties debate and debate and debate about the issues and soon they've created a box around themselves that they can’t get out of. They define themselves and limit their ability to grow or change.
When parties get into debates about whether or not medicine should be socialized, they forget who they are serving--they people. The people whom this would affect tend to follow whatever their party generally believes and allow their party to decide for them which they will choose. They unknowingly give up their choice. This causes division among the people of the nation and also eliminates people's certainty and comfort in free will.
If I could create a political party, it would be no party at all. America today is far too divided and the cut that divides is sore and needing some healing unification. The fighting and tactless competition that goes on between the parties causes division among the people that is detrimental in times of war, as we are now. Instead of pointing the finger at whoever started the war and why they did it, we should unite together and face what’s been presented to us. We are in a war. Fighting within our own country about how wrong or right it is will not help end it. The only way to get out is to support the troops that are there and get them home when it's safest for everyone now and in the future. But without letting the death of those who've died be in vane. Long tangent.
To sum up, the perfect political party is one that serves the people as a united group of people instead of a certain political party or viewpoint. It should be open to change because change is necessary for progress. The party should be one that aims to unite all the people instead of pushing points. It should try its best to keep the country truly free to assembly, press, petition, religion, and speech.

Yeah...too bad it's never gonna happen.
Like you said: ruts. I don't think you will ever find a party, leader, anything that cannot be defined. People need definition in order to classify what it is in their own mind in relation to everything else. Stuff needs to be related to other stuff.
So, define away.
One short sleepe past wee wake eternally,
And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt die.
-John Donne
In all honesty I'm with you on the no political parties stance. Political Parties were nice ways to define a large groups views in a time of limited information flow. Think when the US was founded, information was significantly less available than it is now. While each politician should run with their own views, sometime parties just function more efficiently. Sadly, even if we prevented political parties, alliances would form quickly and it would just be a pseudo-party that functions in just about the same way.
I Agree. The party system is the downfall of democracy in my opinion. I actually wrote about this here
Your right. The party system creates an unchanging set of ideals for each individual party, and our parties today are so wrapped up in beating the other, they can't possibly ever see eye to eye. Democrats and republicans don't have it completely right or completely wrong. Some things would work better than others, but for our country to work best we need strategies from different beliefs. Our society is far from perfect, and being human i don't think we could ever create a "perfect" government, but fighting over things such as affiliation and applying a set defined standard of beliefs to an entire type of people is not going to help us get there.
We need change and we need it fast.
