As everyone knows it is Christmas time. I'm not sure what clued you in, but for me it was the continuous playing of Christmas songs on the radio, or the bright sparkly lights that I enjoy looking at so much, or just maybe it's all the ringing bells of the Salvation Army bell ringers that gave it away. Whatever it is, Christmas time is here. I think Christmas has grown way too big for it's britches and I feel that it's too comercialized. However, I do love the feeling I get when I hand someone a present to open. Since I've always been a bit on the poor side, and hated the thought of giving my money to the Big Corporations of the world, I've always like to make my presents. Here are a few ideas if you'd like to save some money and give a gift that is one of a kind.
This year everyone is getting a picture from me. I love photograpy and I have collected several photos to give as presents. I have this program on my computer where you can play around with the color of the photo, or even make the person look like a cartoon. I'm super excited to get the prints that I ordered from www.snapfish.com You can get prints for like .12 cents and I even made a poster for my niece and nephew it only costs 6.99. Now I will buy frames or frame these photos myself and add some artistic touches to them. Awww....I can't wait to give them their gifts- I'm sure they will love it, plus they know that I really put some time and thought into my gifts.
Some gifts that I gave in the past have been homemade cookies, poems, clothes I made by hand, and a pitcure that I painted. Also a cool way to recycle and NOT waste paper with the jazzy bright wrapping paper is to wrap your gifts in comic paper or take tissue paper and draw on the paper. Make your own wrapping paper. I've never had a person say- oh you cheapo I wish you would have wrapped my gift in santa claus paper. To be honest, my gifts have always been a hit with people.
So hopefully this will give you an idea of what you can do for your special person. Trust me, you can't go wrong with a homemade gift if it was made with LOVE!!

I love walking outside and around my city and look at all the decorations! They are so pretty! I love this holiday season because I get to shop, decorate, and wrape presents! I have never really been good at making homemade gifts..lol... but I might use some of your ideas! I think I'm going to decorate picture frames and put my picture in them..lol.. does that sounds too vain? maybe me and that person..lol.. that sounds better!
Happy Holidays!
I'm so happy I could help! Don't worry, I'm giving my mom a picture of me LOL- vain maybe, but it's the thought that counts, right? I hope you have a great Christmas!!

Im trying to find as many cheap things here on campus to bring home
LOL- I know what you mean. I'm a history major and my dad LOVES history. We are from WV and I took a WV History course this semester- I'm going to recycle my textbook and give it to him for Christmas to read. It might sound cheap, but I did pay for it with my own money at the beginning of the semester and the book cost like 50 bucks- Plus I KNOW he will love it!!
