I learned that some people disagreed with the choice Oprah made to construct a school for girls in Africa. Some people in America said that Oprah should spend her money domestically because there are things that need to be fixed within the country. However, I must say that I disagree with this idea and my reasoning is very straight forward and simple--it's her money. Oprah can do whatever she wants to with her money because it is the fruit of her labor and no one else's.
Furthermore, I believe that the statement made by whomever, is one that is selfish. Oprah can do whatever she wants with her money, just as individuals choose to do whatever they want with their money. I feel greatful that there are people in the world like Oprah who do great things with their wealth. I accolade Oprah Winfrey for being consious of the world's needs and taking action upon them.
