Why I think we should thank illegal immigrants

Tagged:

I'm constantly hearing people gripe and moan because illegal immigrants are coming to America and stealing our jobs. Wait their stealing them? I think the bigger problem here is that many of us Americans have gotten to lazy to do those kinds of jobs. What kinds of jobs are they stealing? The ones we basically quit doing. The low paid, hard manual labor. The truth of the matter is if we rounded up all the illegal immigrants and kicked them out of the U.S then our country would shut down because until we change our welfare system and ideologies about work in general someone has to do those jobs. Americans aren't exactly trying to rush out and get them so we should thank them I say.

I agree. People are creating a lot of noise over nothing!

Yeah, well. If they're not complaining, they're not Americans.

Sorry but that statement is pretty useless...
Anyway, I totally agree with this blog. Get over it people! The only people that seem to be complaining are the ones who get better jobs anyway! Shut up and go to school!

Its funny because were I live people who want those jobs cant get them because illegals took all the jobs. Teenagers are virtually unemplyable where I live because Illegals take th jobs.

Look people can complain all day about the illegals taking jobs and causing problems here in the USA, But the bottom lines is this, If Americans weren't so selfish and spoiled they might actually see that the illegals didn't take anything from anyone, It was us Americans that brought them here in the first place. And to the one who said teens can't get jobs because of the illegals, I would love to have them come work with me in the field for a day,Because they would be crying to go home. the work is very hard and the pay isn't great but it does pay for my bills and puts food on the table... And yes I am an American working in the field for 2 yrs, And i'm very grateful for what i have...But i can tell you this those illegals as people call them, work dang hard for less money...Do you see any Americans out there? I'm the only one where i work what does that tell you?

Maybe cities would struggle to fill jobs of illegals, but they could be filled. in rural areas were the work consist of mostly labor illegal immigrants work cheaper and in some places unemployment is increasing because Hispanics take work. Which is increasing the strain on the welfare system.

One of the nastier jobs in America is garbage man. It is smelly, filthy, involves health hazzards and is very hard. A few years ago I was walking through the French Quarter of New Orleans (and it is hard to imagine nastier garbage than that) early one morning but already sweltering hot and their were two black men literally running to keep up behind a garbage truck that they were loading as fast as they could. I've done plenty of field work and this looked significantly worse than that.

But garbage man jobs almost never go unfilled. There are plenty of Americans willing to do this nasty job. Why? Because it pays a really good wage. They have a good union.

Illegal immigrants, by their sheer numbers, impact the supply side of of the labor equation and drive wages down. The American who suffer the most are those who compete with them directly for unskilled jobs, mainly blacks and other minorities. As a result of massive illegal immigration, all low skilled Americans are forced to make the choice, if they can find a job at all, of accepting lower wages or going on the dole.

(I thought us Progressives were suppossed to be particularly concerned about advancing the least advantaged Americans but apparently some of us care more about the poor from other countries; a wierd policy choice in my opinion! "Armchair" liberals?)

There are no jobs that Americans won't do; only wages that Americans won't accept. Americans will tackle the toughest and dirtiest jobs if they pay decently. It's all about supply and demand. The famous farm labor leader Cesar Chavez understood this clearly. He understood that he could never advance the interest of his labor union until the flow of illegals was stopped.

Amen, amen.
Stop complaining. Immigrants are people too. But they don't like being called illegals, they prefer undocumented or documented immigrants. And alien is pretty annoying to them too. That is just what I've heard from a Cuban immigrant..

Our country will shut down? lmao, that would definitely not be the case. We have people in this country who would work for said jobs.
