I'm not a ho (nor is any other girl)!

Okay, I know that most (or many) girls have been called a ho or some other degrading or disrespectful name at some point in time. But what really makes a girl a ho? Why do so many guys find the need to call girls hoes? Why are the words ho and b**ch in so many songs? I mean how have women let these type of words continue for years? I don't know too many girls that like being called these names, so why have degrading terms likes these continued to be used? I think that women should really get together and do something about it.
The terms ho and b**ch are used so casually now (by both females and males) and there's something wrong with that.
I know that i'm not a ho no matter what I do and i think that goes the same for any girl! Girls should be able to do anything they want and not have to be labelled with a negative term for doing it. There some girls that do things that they probably shouldn't do, but so do some guys. What makes them any different from the girls that do the same things. The term ho should either be abandoned all together or guys should be called hoes too!

Girls are catty.. Its stupid. Who cares whether or not Im having sex? Its my life, not theirs... maybe if girls focused on themselves we would get somewhere here.

I agree with your post. How can girl allow themselves be degrated by all of these songs.

I call guys bitches all the time. it doesnt help.

Hug a musician, they never get to dance.

There's isn't a really good word to call a guy back either. Just another sign of sexism.

If you notice though, it's mostly rap and hip hop where these words are used. Other genres use those words but much less frequently.

I totally agree. I don't feel that we should be degraded by something we do and to say so what when a guy does the same thing.

Girls are probably the ones who looked down upon themselves first. If only girls would stop calling each other using those offensive words, maybe girls wouldn't be looked so down up on. The world might be a better place.

its true that girls can be catty nowadays, but if you look at your history, men having been putting women down since the dawn of man. After the bible was written, it all went down hill, with the fall of man and all his sin being caused by Eve and all that.

Hug a musician, they never get to dance.

for me personally, if a boy ever referred of me as a bitch or a ho he will recieve one hell of a rude awakening. I think its true when they say hell hath no fury like a woman scorned.
haters are my motivators

I remember watching one of the episodes of the "Girls Next Door" where one of Hugh Hefner's girlfriends, Kendra Wilkinson tells that when she was in grammar school, she wore a Playboy shirt one time and someone at her school called her a ho. Therefore, I think that was wrong because just because she wore a Playboy shirt doesn't make her a ho because the shirt doesn't mean that she did bad, sexual things outside of her school.

I've never been called a ho, but my boyfriend does jokingly call me a wench sometimes, because I am a wench at the renaissance fair, but he's always really sweet to me.

I don't need drugs - I have genetics.

It's absurd how a guy can sleep with thousands of girls, and he's regarded as this sex god or whatever, but when a girl does it, she's a 'ho' and spat on. It's just something that gets on my nerves. I've never slept with anyone, but I totally understand the frustration that comes along with having to hear and deal with those old stereotypes.
