To me, progress has many meanings:
-To continue, despite the threat of defeat.
-To learn.
-To discover something about yourself you had never been aware of.
-To become closer to another human being by understanding them better.
-To try. No. To do more than try. To achieve.
-To keep going, even after defeat. (continue doing track even though you keep losing at races, continue applying to colleges/scholarships even though you didn’t get the first few, etc)
-Progress is and will be. Progress is not only the here and now, it is also concerning the near and far future.
-Achieving a goal, and then setting new goals for yourself.
Maybe it’s important to flesh out your own ideas of what progress is in order to understand the term by non-dictionary standards. From what I’ve seen in other blog entries, everyone has a slightly different look at what progress means to them. To restinpeace, that progress is teaching people to save money on funeral costs. To edible woman, that progress is teaching acceptance and seeing from her perspective. To DrifterDani6886, that progress is telling heart-felt true stories. To Green Underbelly, it’s about the great outdoors.
If you are new to the site, I suggest you get a firm idea in your head of what progress means to you. Then, you can’t go wrong with your blog topics. Unless you annoy me by using Chatspeak. Then all bets are off.

I believe progress means the same things you believe it means. I wrote a blog about what progress ment to me and no one commented or anything so I guess it wasn't any good. But comments and ratings have come few and far lately. Good blog..like always. :)
Well....it might not have gotten many reads because there are a lot of blogs about what progress means. I was just hoping this was a semi-good perspective on it.
Sometimes I try hard to not use the word progress in a blog title. Readers may be more likely to read it if it doesn't sound similar to previous blogs.

Love comments? I do too!
I like your thoughts on the meaning, they're inspiring! It sounds like you stand your ground! Like you said, if you have a firm idea, you can't go wrong.
Rest in peace

then a new goal.....
well a goal then a new goal after reaching a goal can be tough.
True...but nobody said progress would be easy. The goal could be big or small too. It could be...I don't know...studying for an hour one day when you'd rather be on ProgressiveU posting blogs!

how many heard the words... how many listened to your meaning? I think I'm starting to becoming obsessed with the difference between the two of late and I'm not sure if its a good thing or not but its making my head hurt for sure ...
your words do ring very true though and i must agree....
jNot necessarily an obsession. You could just be trying to see things with a deeper meaning. That's cool, though if it's making your head hurt....I'm not sure what to prescribe.

Mind Control is Easier Than You Think
The thinking and growing process within my mind is constant right now and I'm loving it but the old saying is true. I challenge all my belief systems right now and see which stand up to the test instead of blindly going with the norm that fits with the rest of my life. I'm growing a set of intellectual b***s slowly but surely!
