I was in a restaurant the other day I was listening to the music playing in the background and it wasn’t elevator music playing in the background, instead it was recent music save for the few 70’s classic that everyone knows. Anyway I heard a familiar song but when the artist’s voice it wasn’t the same guy. The song was Kanye West’s “flashing lights” but the song was actually sung by Colin Munroe. My beef isn’t with the fact that a white guy redid a song by a black guy (by the way it’s a good song) no my argument is the fact that I heard no rap music whatsoever and the one time I hear an actual rap song it has to be sung by a white guy to get played in a restaurant. And this is one of those music cd’s you hear at every public place like a shopping mall or store, so rap isn’t played in a lot of places. And I don’t understand why I mean of course they can’t play a lot of rap because of the drug references and misogynistic lyrics against women but I know there’s a good amount of rap songs that can be played. Songs that everyone loves’s like Will Smith’s “summertime” or Tone Loc’s ‘Wild Thing” and they censor hip hop like crazy for the radio and there’s even rap songs on those kid friendly wow cd’s. So I guess the question is why the fuck can’t the bruthas get a little love? I guess the companies got no problem taking black money but they have a little problem listening to black folks.

just accept that certian music doesnt get played in public places. I dig grind core to the max, but you hear that even less in public then you hear rap.
