As of Monday, February 18th, 2008, David Beckham the world famous Pro soccer player is in Hawaii on the island of Oahu. He along with the rest of his team, The LA Galaxy and other famous Pro soccer players, including Hawaii Local, Brian Ching from Haleiwa. The LA Galaxy is one of four teams to compete in the first Pan-Pacific Championship.
On the local Hawaii news, they said that this news was going to be probably the biggest piece of news Hawaii has ever gotten .. and that it was going to help boost things up for Hawaii's economy. As a person who was born and raised in Hawaii, I must say I agree with pretty much agree with them. Hawaii being such a small and secluded state .. there's not much that goes on here. Every Island in the Hawaii Island Chain is so laid back and everyone just minds their own business. However, when something big like this happens, you better believe that it gets the people of Hawaii all excited. Hawaii Fans will now be able to see the famous soccer star, David Beckham up close and personal.
The Pan-Pacific Championship is the first professional soccer event that Hawaii has hosted in two years .. since the Galaxy took on D.C. United in the MLS exhibition.
