Many people today are faced with abortion in their lives. whether it be a friend, aquatance, a family member or themselves. We all seem to come across this subject in our lives. The question is, is it right or wrong? Many would say that it is murder. And others would say it is the mother's body, therefore the mothers choice. What is the answere to this heated argument... could it be simply that we have failed to define life? Should it be allowed that every woman have her own defenition of life? Is that fair? Why is it that men are convicted of two murders when they kill a woman? Should it be defined as a life if that pregnant person was a pro-choice person herself? Is that thing just a mass of cells, a parasite? or is it a dependent being? Just some questions to pose. I would love to hear all opinions whether I agree with them or not.

pro life... its murder. The child may not be born but it has a beating heart... outside of the womb anything that has a heartbeat is considered ALIVE abortion is killing a human being...
I am a christian first and foremost. So I do believe in Pro Life. I feel that many people who are Pro Choice see a baby as a fetus which is the medical term for a baby. However, I see it as a living being considering it is growing and into a human being. Sometimes I question those who are Pro Choice by asking is it wrong to kill a person when they answer yes i ask if it is wrong to kill a child they say yes then I ask is it wrong to kill a newborn and when they reply yes I say that the only thing separating that newborn and a "fetus" is a few cells that haven't developed and an umbilical cord. I believe that society has forgotten the defintion of life and is more focused on being politcally correct as to not offend anyone. Well in order to express one's thought and beliefs people will be offended and most of the time it shouldn't be taken too seriously. I think people need to lighten up a bit and realize that not so many people think the way they do/
I wish that you would do more than just raise the questions that we've heard so many times before. Please share your opinion.
Personally, I am 100% Pro-Choice. I think that abortions are extremely unfortunate, but I also don't think it's appropriate to take away a woman's choice based on the morale of one religion (that's unconstitutional).
If you think abortions are awful and the murder of a fetus is against god or whatever, then don't get one, but please let the people who really need to take care of an unwanted pregnancy still have the option.
How come we only ask ourselves the really big questions when something bad happens?
I believe the Bible says it best. "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place." ~Psalm 139:13-15

3 pro-life arguments. 2 completely biblical arguments.
I am pro-choice. I also hate the idea of abortions and think that late term abortions should not be legal with the exceptions of health issues for the mother.
1) It is double murder because it is the woman's choice. Not some other person's choice. Further more, correct me if I'm wrong, in some states, it depends when in the pregnancy it is for it to be considered double murder.
2) For a while, it is just a clump of cells. It is also, basically, a parasite. The difference is that it will grow into a human. However, if you want to protect potential lives, then shouldn't it be illegal to get sterilized, or use birth control?

What is the answere to this heated argument... could it be simply that we have failed to define life?
Not at all. The beginning of life is birth. It always has been birth. That's when you get your name, your birth certificate and your social security number. It's when you become a dependent on your parents' taxes. It's when you join the rest of society. Birth. It's why we celebrate our birthdays, not our conceptiondays. Birth is the dividing line, when a pregnant woman becomes mother and baby, when the fetus separates from the mother and becomes a brand new person. This concept is so ingrained in our culture, that even the word "birth" means "beginning!"
Should it be allowed that every woman have her own defenition of life?
Before birth, absolutely.
Is that fair?
Of course it's fair. It's my body. I get to decide what happens to it, not you or anyone else.
Why is it that men are convicted of two murders when they kill a woman?
You mean a pregnant woman?
Because only a woman has the right to end her own pregnancy. A killer should not be able to come along and take away a woman's right to life and her right to give her baby life.
Should it be defined as a life if that pregnant person was a pro-choice person herself?
Why not? Pro-choice people have kids, too. Being pro-choice doesn't mean you only get to choose abortion.
It seems to me this is a discussion that has been beaten into the ground. To post this is alright but it gets us no where. Its not a simple yes or no thing, there are many many things you have to take into consideration so to simply ask if you are pro or not is truly leaving out so many variables. There is much more to it - you have rape victims you have people who simply cannot handle being a parent yet - you have to decided the responsible action. It isn't easy either way - it will always be a hard choice and always be a fighting arguement
and so i would say i am pro choice
yes...Pro Choice
and i agree that late trimester abortions should be illegal for the most part except if their is a medical exception and if their is some sort of life long disorder/illness that maybe the parents aren't willing to handle and take care of or deal (maybe it would be better in most people eyes that the child gets put up for adoption but i am not too entirely sure about that)
yes, i would say that since I do not have much one on one experience with abortion (noone i know has gone through it) do not take any offense
I am just saying my very own personal opinion at this point in life
and so I am pro choice
I don't know if it will be the same in year or two...if i actually witness this sort of thing with my eyes (hopefully not because i would much rather not.. have to ever decide one way or the other.)
