You Are Not an Accident -
You were not an accident. Maybe you were the result of an unplanned pregnancy, but God had your birth planned even before the foundations of the earth were laid. He created you to inhabit this earth and to fulfill His purposes for your life. God had a future in store for you beyond your greatest imagination. Now, it’s a matter of you finding out what his plans are for your life.
Some people were born to parents who deeply love and adore them; others are less fortunate and are born to parents who could care less whether you lived or died. Regardless, God knew whose DNA He would miraculously use to create you! God considered human error when planning your existence, and He said, “It is good” upon your conception. In Psalms 139:13 & 14, David reflects God’s thoughts towards him and all creation, “For you were formed my inward parts; you covered me in my Mother’s womb. I will praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made, marvelous are your works.”
God reminds us in Isaiah 46:9, God is God and there is no other; He is God and there is no other like Him. God is love, 1 John 1:9. Love is the foundation of God’s character and He creates plans and brings things to pass based on this intense feeling for us as His blessed creation. Without God, life really has no meaning, purpose or significance. Let me leave you with the words of poet Russell Kelfer.
You are who you are for a reason.
You’re part of an intricate plan.
You’re a precious and perfect unique design,
Called God’s special woman or man.
You look like you look for a reason.
Our God made no mistake.
He knit you together within the womb,
You’re just what He wanted to make.
The parents you had were the ones He choose,
And no matter how you may feel,
They were custom-designed with God’s plan in mind,
And they bear the Master’s seal.
No, that trauma you faced was not easy.
And God wept that it hurt you so;
But it was allowed to shape your heart
So that into His likeness you’d grow.
You are who you are for a reason,
You’ve been formed by the Master’s rod.
You are who you are, beloved,
Because there is a God!
