"After a breast-reduction operation, Eliza was in constant pain due to a gaping hole inside her left breast. She suffered what is called "wound breakdown". The area had to be dressed daily and took five months to heal. She has managed to recover, but is physically and emotionally scarred by the experience.
Plastic surgeon, Dr Darryl Hodgkinson, says he spends nearly 70% of his time operating on patients who are dissatisfied with previous cosmetic surgery. Sometimes unskilled surgeons are to blame. It is often assumed that these operations are very simple when in fact they're actually exceptionally complicated."

These days all you hear about is how this person needs a boob job, that person got botox..
It's crazy how everyone is thinking. It is great to look good but not if you are going to end up with dented in breasts like Vivica Fox or 3rd degree burns after a 'simple' laser procedure.

The practice of plastic surgery is now greatly used, especially by women. Women have this want for perfection but perfection does not exist, for beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The idea of plastic surgery has been blown up especially by the fashion world. When girls see those
“perfect” models they also want to be perfect and beautiful. But in reality those models are not even perfect, just cause they appear to be perfect does not mean they are. Also plastic surgery is addictive, when you have one thing done, u will see another imperfection and will also want that done. This will cause u to go into a state of denial and depression, never being happy with yourself.
Plastic surgery isn't permament. One has to get "updated" as one gets older. Not to mention that the procedures and pain are more intense than any average person even has a familiarity with. Read The Beauty Myth by Naomi Wolf -- she touches more in depth about all those things and what drives us to plastic surgery and other things. One of the most eye-opening and view changing books I have read yet.

thats crazy! i could never change any part of my body like that. Too scary
Most of the time, there's something deeper wrong than just being dissatisfied with their appearance - it's a feeling that they need to be better, or a need to fit in.
Has anyone seen that CSI episode where that woman ends up killing herself because she's so obsessed with her beauty (but what me and most men would consider disgusting - what she's doing I mean, not what she was before she started getting obsessed).

If a society is willing to give freedom for temporary security, they deserve neither.
Was that plastic surgeon unskilled at performing boob jobs? Because if I wanted a boob job, I would have a skilled plastic surgeon who does good work do it, like Dr. Robert Rey.
yall be crazy who be done dat boob inlarger yall gone get gang gree n
I personally don't see what is wrong with having plastic surgery , if it boosts the confidence and make people feel better, then why not. Beside the technology has evolved a lot and it is becoming more and more safe. Every surgery has its risks, not only cosmetic surgery
Yes, every surgery does have risks, but most surgeries are performed for important, life-threatening reasons. Plastic surgery is simply for vanity. It comes with hundreds of risks...and for what? So you can look better.
And many times it doesn't boost self confidence. People think that their self esteem issues are only about their big nose, small breasts, flabby stomach, etc, when in reality, their issues are much deeper. So they spend all this money on a surgery that comes with a bunch of risks and they may not even be happier once it's all said and done.
this is terriable
if they would be 100% safe, then i would be more pro-plastic surgery. I can't say that right now i am against them, but i do have my reservated thoughts.I think nature made people the way she did for a reason.
Yeah if I felt better about the safety issue, I would probably get something done. Like have my jaw fixed, its a little crooked. Its not really noticable or anything, but it bothers me.
There are bad consequences of plastic surgery that occur very frequently. I wrote a post about the exessive plastic surgery use in today's society. It's sad. People have such low self esteem that they think the only way they can be happy is by changing their appearance. For some of them, this works. But for many others, they still aren't happy because the self-esteem goes deeper than simply their big nose, small breasts, etc.
I do acknowledge that some people legitimately need plastic surgery after accidents, or for medical reasons. But now plastic surgery is way too common for superficial reasons.
why woud you eve do this
I think that if that's going to make her feel better, than go for it. I would get a breast lift after having 2 kids...but I can't afford to. I think you take a chance with any decision you make in life, sooo...no worries!
I have breast implants, and am very happy with them. I don't suffer from depression and I've had the implants for four years now. I think that your response to the plastic surgery totally depends on your mindset going into the surgery. If you think that you are not good enough or not pretty enough, and that's why you get the surgery, you are bound to suffer emotional problems. As far as the problems with the breast implant surgery goes, every surgery has the possibility of complications. It's really sad that she had problems, and I hope that if she has surgery in the future, she finds a surgeon that knows what he's doing.
im having my boobs done in 8 days and really really scared does it hurt and was you worried that something would go wrong? where did you have yours done? im going to prague for mine so thats worrying me too
Some people just feel better about themselves after a "tune-up"; it's just too bad to hear about this :(
I read in a magazine once that a girl got breast implants. She later felt like a stranger to herself for it and wanted to have the implants removed. She has horrible scars now.
Another choked on her own blood from liposuction in the throat area.
Over 70% of people that get plastic surgery done suffer from depression.
