Just my opinion about the generational gap between older black people and today's generation.
Let's go back about 30 years or so ago when all of you were kids, wasn't the music, all the fads, and trends disliked by your parents and elders. Didn't they say they couldn't understand or didn't like the music? And now today you are doing the same. Why do you group us all in one category? We are more diverse than you realize. I mean I'm a Y generation kid and anything that's not rap I pretty much lump into other. But an old school cat would say there are plenty of different kinds of old school music. I'm just saying it hurts, just because I was born after 1980 doesn’t mean my opinions and views are any less valid than yours. Granted since you are older you will speak with more wisdom and experience but you should be using that knowledge to help me, not judge me. Having this divide, this gap, doesn’t make any sense. You are use and we are you, we didn't draw the battelines you did and we are simply trying to cross the border. Don't mind the nonsense below, just to make 20o word requirement. hiufiuwcuiuehiuhiuhriuf iojdoihfi ofhioe hchi hcorihcoihreiofh oiirhfio froi hfoi coiihoi.

The lack of insight is making such that many elders can’t relate to what youngsters pay attention to.
Most cannot relate to the realities of youngsters, while themselves trying to remain in their own personal bubble of their own fake one.
Many people that have passed their fifties somehow get (mind)stuck, some of them
become filled with frustration which they mostly push or vent upon youngsters.
Lucky enough most older people are OK, lol
Don’t bother, in time you might become exactly that what you dislike now!

You do make an interesting point in that people become stubborn and the world they grew up in and the one we currently live in is two totally different places, and I'm sure feeling as though the world left you by a like thirty years ago must really suck.
Also I was really talking about the generational gap between older and younger african americans, and how they feel everything they experienced and enjoyed when they were young is black while anything that dosen't fit in that old school category as outside the black culture therefore black people that define themselves as today's generation are considered outside the culture of black.
Many things these days change at such a rapid pace making it very hard for older people to understand or grasp what is happening around their own lives, making them to reject all of the things they cannot relate too.
They become judgmental towards youngsters like if they were the cause of all these changes.
Youngsters regardless of racial origin enjoy much more freedom which most older people didn’t enjoy. Still, the pressure upon youngsters has not changed in relation to the old days, life is tuff for a teen now, many suffer from an unclear future because of all what is happening around in their environments and the world in a whole.
It narrows down their personal views which is a bad thing, because it brings fear in youngsters lives, them not always knowing how to handle these emotions.
Black children who are being raised still today need to endure way to many negative effects which are lingering in societies. It will take some more time before a true balance will arise for all to enjoy from.
Education received in schools is a crappy one which is still lacking a proper format which could uplift all students!
The education a black child receives in a familial atmosphere is way different in regard to that being provided in a white family. A black child still today is literally being trained to survive inside the harsh world which is waiting for them outside the boundaries of their homes. Depending on one’s child character this is not always the easiest task to go about for a parent!
The reason why jails are filled up with black youngsters is not because they are black but more a situation of unbalance which is sustained upon social presumptions. Not every black youngster enjoys the proper (schooling or parental guidance to overcome obstacles which are pushing his/her emotions from left to right on a daily basis.
To be living in a (society) world in which white people don’t even grasp what I’m writhing down here, makes it even more confusing for all to understand, because for now they simply don’t!
It is changing for the better, but things take time,...
Yes, this gap is real, just mind it doesn’t affect the one’s that follow behind, therefore it’s important to put effort in dealing with reason whenever misfortunes come to present themselves upon the path of life.
This gap is mostly all one has gained in knowledge in regard to whatever others, regardless of age or race...
To learn and see what and who is plain stupid, make’s one to realize where and with whom to venture trough life in order to remain unharmed and in balance to overcome whatever which might lay ahead!
Be cool, stay cool and become what you like to see in others!

*snorts* 30 years or so ago, I wasn't even a thought in my mother's head. She was still a teenager. Most of the people on this site will be in the same position I'm in, so if you're addressing the older generation, this really isn't the best place to do it.
Also, if you can't get 200 words in a post, it probably isn't a post that should belong here. Once the competition begins, posts like this will get points deducted, because they must have 200 words of original content in order to be considered for the competition. Nice try, though :)

Yeah, I know but the whole thing was just on my mind and I had to just get out it out you know also I could care less about any competition. I was writing aout my opinion about something which is the whole point of a blog I thought, which is to express yourself, regardless if it's right or wrong. And as for the older generation if they see my article fine if not that's okay too. And so what if my post isn't 200 words, as long as I'm writing about my own views with respect to everyone I wouldn't if I wrote a one word article.
Your post is required to be 200 words by the terms of use agreement you made when you signed up for the site. If you don't like the requirement, try another site.
