Sherlock Holmes: The Hound of the Baskervilles by Arthur Conan Doyle
Journal 7 of 9

Sir Henry Baskerville and Watson are determined to find out what Mr. Barrymore is doing up so late. Every night they can hear him walking down the hall with his lite candle. He enters the same empty room every time. During one night Watson and Henry wait up for Barrymore to come through. He eventually does. They follow him to the room. Barrymore just sits at the window with his candle held up to it. Sir Henry is impatient to find out what he's doing. So Henry steps in the room demanding to know what Barrymore is doing. He startles Barrymore and Barrymore explains that he was just looking out the window. Watson seems to think he's trying ti signal someone. So he takes Barrymore's candle and puts it next to the window. Watson stares out into the darkness and all the sudden he sees a candle light up in the moor about a mile away. Watson moves his candle around. The unknown lite candle in the moor beings moving as well. Henry integrates Barrymore, but he says it isn't his secret to tell. Mrs. Barrymore comes in and tells them that it's a signal that her brother, who is the escaped convict is out there. So then Mr. Barrymore goes out to leave him food so he doesn't starve to death. I knew the convict had to be linked in somewhere. The convict is taking advantage of his sister, Mrs. Barrymore. I think that Henry and Watson will eventually turn the convict in. If only they can catch him. I still believe that Barrymore has more information that he isn't sharing.
