You hear so much about blogs on the internet but coming from a hick town and working most of the time, I feel like I am missing what everybody is talking about. Blog this and Blog that, so please will someone tell me what is a blog?
Someone said that it is where you talk about what you want to, well there are alot of things that I like to talk about but I can't get anybody to listen! Like fishing, working on my truck and my dog who is the ugliest thing in the world but I don't have to worry about anybody stealing him. He is a albino pittbull/sharpae (and yes I know that I didn't spell that right but you get the gest) and in the summer, most of his hair falls out and he sweats and gets sunburn. When people see him, they want to know what is wrong with him and usual say that he needs to be put out of his misery.
And fishing, I can't say enough, really where else can you relax and get mosquito bit and have to constantly watch out for snakes and you can carry a shotgun legally without anybody thinking that you are out to rob someone!
Well, is this is a blog, please let me know!

It depends on what site you're talking about. The blogs they talk about on the news are typically opinion columns, run through newspaper websites, or even television websites. These people typically aren't paid for their column, and are not journalists (there are, of course, exceptions).
On a site like livejournal, a blog is quite literally an online journal. People write about different things in their journal, but they tend to focus on personal experiences.
Here on ProgressiveU, a blog is anything that discusses or raises questions about some issue in today's society... anywhere in the world.
Based on those definitions, your 'blog' most probably fits into the second category.

It is possible to make a blog about fishing progressive, if fishing is used as a metaphor or analogy for some larger societal issue. The ugly dog..I'm not so sure, but you know him better, bigbobbyred. How is he progressive?

Oh, no doubt. Absolutely anything can be made progressive :)

First of all, no offense but it is bigRobbyred, not Bobby. And my dog could be progressive by in which society views animals. They only want dogs that are cute and pleasing to the eye. Where my dog, somebody first pour something all over him to remove his hair except a mohawk on the back of his neck, then threw him out of a moving truck so when my mom found him on the side of the road, he had a large scrape mark down his side, a cherry stye in his left eye and his nails with no hair really creep out my mom. She wanted to take him to the pound but I begged her not to so we took him to the vet. They told us what kind of dog he was and removed the cherry. Even though he is the ugliest dog, a person could not ask for a more loyal best friend.
It is like the old saying, don't judge a book by its cover.
