Democracy is a horrible system of government. It is majority rule. The minority has no say in our country, or very little. This is not what the founders wanted. They didn't want ignorant teachers teaching students who have no capacity for learning anything outside of school. It's uncool to study or learn anything out of school nowadays. No wonder our country is full of people who tell us how the government should run, yet know nothing about our true government.
When the founding fathers founded this great country, they realized that democracy was a failed system of government. Here are some excerpts from them and scholars:
"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."
- unknown
"Men, it has been well said, think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, one by one." - Charles Mackay
"Hitler's rise to power was legal in terms of majority rule and neither he nor Stalin could have maintained the leadership of large populations, survived many interior and exterior crises, and braved numerous dangers to the relentless intra-party struggles if they had not the confidence of the masses." - Charles Mackay
"Democracy is itself, a religious faith. For some it comes close to being the only formal religion they have. - E.B White
"A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine." - Thomas Jefferson
Democracy is a religious faith. Mr. White is right, the Bible promotes democracy, where the majority rules and you don't question authority. But what we need is a Constitutional Republic that our country was founded on. I'm sure they're will be quotes from the founders to contradict me, but if you look back at the 18th century, democracy was the same thing as a constitutional republic. Now it is not the same thing. Jefferson figured that out, hence why Democracy is bad.
Constitutional Republic-A constitutional republic is a state where the head of state and the other officials are elected as representatives of the people, and must govern according to existing constitutional law that limits the government's power over citizens
That is what the country was founded on ladies and gentleman. We have distorted it to mean democracy, they are not the same.
I mean if the majority hadn't followed Hitler, Stalin, religions, dictators and the likes, we would be much better off. Because of the use of majority rule, that democracy stands for, we have witnessed horrors all because of the false belief of democracy.

Ok...so what's the plan? Do we overthrow and elect a new official? Do we just let anarchy and general chaos run rampent? All you've done is point out the problem, son, so let's offer a solution.

Hold on a minute. I'm going to reply to your very sharp, pithy, and utterly ridiculous comment assuming you won't pull a Ted Kennedy - that is, make some stupid remark, ask some questions, and then leave without ever a care as to the answer.
You're assuming that in order for us to point out a problem, we have to already have a solution. Whatever happened to that ever-repeated piece of 'wisdom', "Recognizing the problem is the first step?" No one has to immediately offer a solution.
So before you start calling people "son," as though to put someone is his place, why don't you use some rational thought first?
He called me son because my sn is son_of_disaster, kinda like when people call me SOD.. But nicholas is right, most people on here only mudrake and never give the solution. I have an idea, he just needs to give me time to write pt 2 of the blog.
Alright if that is the case, I apologize for my wrong conclusion. However, everything else I say I stand by.
I know people complain a lot and never give a solution, but I just say let them. If they can recognize a "problem," and lay out their case in a rational, thought-out manner, then that's fine.
The only problem with those kinds of people today is they don't lay out their case, they just go "this suxxx omg lol impeach some1."
As someone already pointed out, you unnecessarily insulted me. Rational thought was the driving force behind my comment.
I am assuming that in order for us to point out a problem we have to first have a solution. Recognizing the problem is the first step, but why only say "here's the problem?" So, if you offer a problem, give me your solution. I've already offered solutions to fixing the state of the Nation, so no, I won't pull a Ted Kennedy.

Ive said I'll have it Nicholas. I'll write it later in the week, because I'm gonna be without a computer for the next 4 days or so. I'll have it though, have faith in me...no not religious faith.
I read all the comments, I was merely commenting on my attacker's statement about how I was assuming that to point out a problem you must have a solution. And I was right, obviously, because now you've pointed out the problem and soon you'll be giving me the solution.

oh ben franklin....his razor-sharp wit never fails to amuse.
and while you do make some very valid points, nicholas is right...how exactly would we implement a "new" (i put that in quotes because it really would be a partial return to the old system i suppose) system? if there's one thing that people in power don't usually support, it's anything that would take power away from them...

Hey guys, there is a reason I have parts to this, seesh. Besides, just look back at other blogs I've written on the subject, i give some idea of what I propose. But I'm going to write another blog, don't have a heartattack. I've just got to outline my ideas in my head before I write my solution.
happy now? probably not, but keep watch for them.
While I am certainly sympathetic to your message, this quote...
"Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote."
...is not correctly attributed to Benjamin Franklin. It doesn't appear anywhere in his collected works, though it is a easy mistake to make considering how often this bogus quote is re-quipped in internet sources. The big give-away is the word "lunch," which doesn't appear in the etymology of the English language until 1823. Franklin died in 1790.
Even so, the quote is a good one.
