I Am From Everywhere...But America

America, land of the free, home of the brave. I, am an American. Born and raised, well born here, raised everywhere. One thing i have noticed about our country. No one wants to claim their American heartiage. Everyone wants to be diffrent, yet no one wants to be judged. People wonder why there are so many "race issues". Yet here are some things i have observed in the past week. People show off all these diffrent countries, you can count at least 5 puertorican flags back packs, hoodies, key chains in our local mall, mexico, italita, canada, birtian..the list goes on and on, yet no one will rep the American flag. It makes me wonder, did these teens, tweens and even young adults ever live in these countries? Correct me if i am wrong, but if your birth certificate says, America on it, and if you were poped out in America, does that not make you American? TYhe same thing goes for "African Americans" HAve these kids ever lived in Africa? Waht about their parents? My family imagrated here from Lithuana and Italy. I di not clam to be Italitan, my mom speaks it, my dad as well, however, i am American , poped out in Sav Georgia. It kind of makes me mad. people claim race, hate crimes, judgement, but what would havppen if everyone shut up and claimed the country they came from? It is sad that we have people fighting to get into this country, and they show more pride to be an American than people who have lived here their entire lives. MY neighbor knows more about American history than my from who has a masters in college. It is sad, when Sep 11th happend for a year afterward every one had American Pride. now it seems like it has fizzled out, and died. Think about it. You may have a diffrent skin color, speak a diffrent dialect. Even eat diffrent foods from your peers. But never forget, you were born in this country, you have an American citizenship. You are American.

I must agree but I am a very confusing concoction. I am Hungarian, Czech, Native American, German, Scottish, Dutch, and irish. I am american yes, but from a cultural stand point I am the UN. lol. I understand what you are saying though and I agree.

People are more focused on their heritage than where they are at the moment.
