Please Don't Stop The Music!!!

Ahhh.. 9 years. Thats how long i have playing my beloved sax... and im glad. why because for those nine years i had training and mentors to help and guide. I was always a fan of instrumental music because i told people it relaxes you itmakes you smarter. well wouldn't you to my surprise as soon as i register my lil cousing for music in the 6th grade they tell me they don't offer the class. WHAT?? not band for 6th graders.. no the principal said... well what about chourus they don't offer that either. Lets not talk about orchestra.. He told me that they had plenty of sports she could try though. I was dejected. I went and talked to my music director at my old high school and he told me that that wasn't uncommon. Many schools in my state and even in the country are low on the budget for music programs. some school are even getting rid of it all together. NOOOO!! its like im in a bad nightmare. Some one stop this madness. Music is not just for entertainment. Music speaks to your mind and fuels your intellect. Music helps coordination, and helps children remember things in OTHER subjects. It helps people with relief for there problems.. what happens now?
