Worrisome Words

It starts with one word, on single word of one to
two syllables, one word that if unnoticed leads to the
downfall of our youths acts. The amount of foul words is
increasing, everything from the words to name a cat, to one
to name a female dog, have through out the history of man
kind become a taboo. It is amazing if you look at the
definitions of these words that cause children to taste the
bitter bubbles of soap.
According to dictionary.com the following "cuss" words
really mean

damn -
1. to declare (something) to be bad, unfit, invalid, or
illegal.
2. to condemn as a failure: to damn a play.
3. to bring condemnation upon; ruin.
shit-
1. excrement; feces.
2. an act of defecating; evacuation.
Stupid-
1. lacking ordinary quickness and keenness of mind; dull.
2. characterized by or proceeding from mental dullness;
foolish; senseless: a stupid question.
3. tediously dull, esp. due to lack of meaning or sense
Fuck-
1. to have sexual intercourse with.
Hoe-
1. a long-handled implement having a thin, flat blade
usually set transversely, used to break up the surface of
the ground, destroy weeds, etc.
2. any of various implements of similar form, as for mixing
plaster or mortar.
3. to dig, scrape, weed, cultivate, etc., with a hoe
Bitch-
1. a female dog.
2. a female of canines generally
Yet we have turned these seemingly innocent words, though
it is clear that some are rather crude, into something else,
a put down, a curse, a discriminating cry towards another.
It leads me to wonder, what will happen in our future, in a
world where even soap can not scorn out the dirtiness we
have pressed upon the words we use. Where words are twisted
till the hurty and kill. For in a world where words are so
mighty the pen and voice hurt more than the sword.

This post made me chuckle because of the silliness we turn words into. But at the same time, it made me sad that we have scorned our language to make it less than what it should be. Perhaps more people need to stand up and make words better!
