As a child growing up with only one parent there for me, I can say that it isn't easy, but it proves to be a good thing.
Before I was born, my biological father cheated on my mom when they were 'dating', and now I have my half brother who is only a month and six days younger than I am. But this little leisure activity of my father has caused me to become a better person in my life. As I grew up without him, and living with only my mother, living in a small apartment, barely getting by, I realized that I had to be a bigger and better person than he ever was. I have grown up to become someone with a great amount of self accomplishments, and a lot of responsibility that I don't think I would have achieved if he WAS there..
A lot of children grow up without their mother or father there, either from a one night stand, a broken relationship, fatality, or anything else. These things that happen in life that cause this loss isn't always a bad thing. Overcoming hardships make life in the future easier by learning things from what has happened already. Use your past to make your present better, and your future the best. Why let life getting you down, when you can make it better by becoming a better person. I never thought I would be 18 years old, and with my mother still, a senior in high school, and be as successful as I am. I have used my dads poor choices to make my life worth living every day.
