So, let's face the facts. Everyday we all hear things that are raunchy, gross, and sometimes just wrong. It's apart of being our age. It's a part of life, experiencing the morphed,, disgusting, and sick. Yet, in all the perverseness, we find humor. Why? Why do we find the mocking and demeanoring of lost, and confused people funny. Would we feel the same way if we were the one's on the covers of tabloids, or who were popping up on U tube for things we didn't even know of? I think not. Would we not feel a sense of bitterness and shame. A sense of embarassment and defeat, like many celebrities (like britney spears, lindsay lohan, etc)? Would these feelings not drive us farther and deeper into our state of depression and lostness? Would we not embrace even more willingly the vices that put us on the covers of the media? I say we weer away from the harassment and critisism. Lean away from the hypocricy and complaints. Until we are able to stand in their skin and take on their grievances as our own, until we can plant our feet in the situations they live and still keep our ground, and until we are brave enough to battle the demons that haunt their dreams at night; until then and only then, will anyone be given the right to judge. I find it sick that people up in celebrity status are such targets of malice, when, in many ways, if we were in those positions we would make the same mistakes they make, and probably end up in the same situations. I think it's horrible. And The worst is I know there's nothing that can be done because of freedom of the press. But what I'm asking is: Does anyone else feel that it's wrong how the media pries into certain celebrities lives, and in many ways antagonize them till they're drawn deeper into their problems.

i agree with you, i change the channel now when i see those kinds of shows on. Many of those stars have had people in their face since they were kids...i would probably be a little off too if i had toi deal with those issue everyday.
I too am nauseated by our country’s obsession with celebrity, yet I don’t sympathize for them. I think that taking on a job in the public eye like a movie star comes with its perks, like money and an easy job, and its set backs, like having your life under a microscope. Overall, they have it better off than the rest of us, and if they can’t deal with their fame, I think they should move out of Hollywood and find a new job.
