According to my sources National Funeral Director and Mortician Recognition Day has passed the United States Congress on April 29th. You may as well refer to this as National Funeral cost day.
Now in good conscience I cannot see how the Congress( House of Representatives) passed this recognition day in light of the IFDA Preneed Trust Deficit and the National Prearranged Services preneed shut down nationwide.
It is my contention that recognizing funeral directors and the present funeral system will only raise funeral cost in th long run. The NFDA ( National Funeral Directors Association) has promised reform of Preneed. This has happened before. This has been promised several times. In good faith i no longer opposed National Funeral Directors Day because there are honest good funeral directors. The resolutions states they are special because they are on call 24/7. There are actually many 24/7 professions.
It passed the House of Representatives by a voice vote. As often in a an election year, with war and economic crisis blowing strongly, Congress passes something with unintended consequence. This time it is raising Funeral cost. Maybe very soon we will be like France.
France has a national hug day.
