Spell Check my bleep

TiffanySouthall's picture

Everybody that has typed a blog on this site has observed a few things. One irking thing about this site is that there is spell check for the comments but for some odd reason the spell check is not on the blog post area. What the bleep is up with that? I mean I guess it could be considered pure laziness to not send your post through Word spell check as a general measure. Then it defeats the purpose of having the blog post type space area because then I could type out all my blogs on Word then attach about five posts at a time. I guess there is a catch to everything. Anyway good luck to everyone.

Are you using firefox? Firefox automatically has spell check for you wherever you type. It's really helpful. I misspelled a lot of words and it would correct them for me.

I tried Firefox before - it continually locked up my computer.

I'll stick with IE7 :)

It doesn't do that in the Rich-Text part of the blog, though, which is why I suspect Tiffany doesn't see it there.

There is a feature we might add in the future providing spell check on the site, and that would be for everything except comments...

If you download the google toolbar, it will spell check comments and blogs at your request. It's pretty good.

I love Firefox, but like everything you love, there's always that one thing you don't love about it. Firefox does not check my grammar or spelling. I've had to spend a bunch of time just fixing minor typos in my posts.

It's an add on... I installed it the first day, and never had to worry about it again. Try installing this: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/browse/type:3, and going from there.

Good idea. That would be nice. I never bother to run a spell check, hopefully that has not angered too many people.

I like the idea of just knowing how to spell in the first place. It gives me another way of picking which blogs I read.
