Violence On Television

Many people believe that violence on television is what promotes violence in today’s youth. I do not necessarily think that that is true. For years now people have been blaming violence on anything possible. Violence used to be blamed on music, on television and now on video games. I believe that people are not seeing the overall problem. It is in human nature to be violent and whether or not a person can control their anger is the actual problem. I believe that violence is because of the background a person has grown up in. Just because a person hears or sees violence does not mean that they are automatically going to think it is alright to be violent. A person who is not violent is usually taught that it is wrong to be that way. A person who is violent is usually not capable of realizing that what they are doing is wrong. I mean on a certain level they probably know that it is wrong but the background that they probably grew up in probably did not make it a point to show that violence was wrong. I do not think that violence can be blamed on a single thing, violence is everywhere and it is the person’s choice on whether or not to act out on their anger in a violent way. I believe that violence is due to a total lack of control of ones own self, not television.
