"Only the good die young"

My high school has experienced four deaths since February.

TO the best of my knowledge, the first had nothing to do with alcohol. The next three on the other hand, did.

Three weeks ago a young man who graduated last year was killed in a drunk driving accident. He grabbed the wheel and his friend, who was driving drunk ( and under-aged) over-corrected, and the car flipped. When the driver woke up, he looked everywhere for the passenger. When he found him, he wasn't breathing. He gave him CPR.. and miraculously brought him back temporarily, but the ambulence took 20 minutes to get there, and by then it was just too late.

This past Saturday evening, a girl and her boyfriend were killed in a drunk driving accident. The guy was drunk, and driving entirely way too fast... and consequently the car got completely wrapped around a tree.  3 other people were in the car just minutes before, and demanded to be let out, because they did not feel comfortable with the driver driving... one of the people was the girl's (who died) twin sister.

What is it going to take for people to realize that it can happen to them. Why do people keep drinking and driving, and UNDERAGED! There is a reason the legal drinking age is 21.  Even at that though... it's not safe.

This is my plea to spread the word that it can happen to anyone. So be safe.

I mean, yea! People keep telling other people that illegal immigration is bad because it's illegal but then they keep quiet about underage drinking? I mean, what is THAT all about?

I totally agree. I don't know why we keep letting teens get away with underage drinking. At my high school I hear about all of these drinking parties. I think that they are held almost every weekend. Everyone knows who the drinking crowd is but they hardly ever get caught. A couple of months ago, the cops issued tickets to a group that was holding a drinking party. A couple of guys got suspended from various sports teams. This same group still gets together every weekend. What is it going to take for them to realize that it's not safe? Thankfully no one at my school has been killed in an alcohol related acciedent but there have been deaths at schools nearby. Why do people still do this?--They know it's not safe.

I agree with you.
I mean honestly, don't they have any other way to have fun?? If their definition of "fun", is to get drunk(underage), and do stuff and blame everything they did on the alcohol, I think they seriously don't know how to have fun, nor do they have a life. And I can't believe that some of them even brag about "what they did" when intoxicated. I think it's embarrassing.

I completely understand your blog and I can connect to your experiences. I recently wrote a blog on this same issue and it was very hard to listen to the story as I typed it but it helped me get it out too.
