Even though the readership of newspapers has decreased by fifty percent between 1965 and 1990 among readers under thirty-five, I try to read my city paper everyday in order to see what's happening in the local and national news. Also, some days I read The New York Times and that seems to cover a broad amount of information, but I do have to comment, that if I was not on campus every day where the paper is free I would not read the paper as much because I probably wouldn't be able to pay for it everyday. Most news can be found online at websites like www.cnn.com and occasionally I visit that site for news, but since I have access to the paper I prefer the written word rather than the computer screen. When I have time in the morning I also try to watch the local news and sometimes even catch the Today show on NBC. I would say these sources are quite efficient and very useful to me.
Do you read the paper or catch the news on the web?

I don't have a TV (and I'm always afraid television stations are so biased, anyway) and it's really hard to come by a newspaper-- like you said, it's hard to pay for it every day.
I'm an avid reader of www.msnbc.com but, as shown in my most recent (and first) post, I can't stand the news for how demoralizing and depressing it is.
It's absolutely necessary to stay informed, but it is so hard with everything that's going on.
If I have access to getting newspapers, I like to read them. For the most part, though, I get my news from the internet. Sometimes I'll watch the news on tv, but thats when I have down time and there is nothing better on.
