So as I was in the cafeteria heating up last night's tilapia dinner for my lunch today, in walks The Cool Guy at work - the guy who makes everyone laughs and can make something normally really uncool, cool! I've worked with CG since I started in my job at Corporate America in mid 2005 - if he were single I'd probably go straight for him - what a feat! Able to write amazing articles for our monthly newsletter, able to turn lesbians straight!
I always wonder what it is that makes him cool, and me uncool. I think I've always been on the outside looking in, but how do some people get on the inside and others on the outside? Was he picked on less in school? Did his Mom let him wear jeans earlier than 7th grade? Did he shed his G.I. Joes earlier than I ditched my Barbies? I don't understand this phenomenon and would love for someone to shed some light on it for me. Is being cool an attitude or a look? Is it having the most amount of friends or being the best basketball player at school? Is it wearing the right clothes or having the most money? I don't understand the division and would love to - maybe then I could make that leap from girl who no one wants to sit with at lunch to girl who others can't get enough of.
And what makes CG even cooler is that he's completely supportive of gay rights and gets just as angry as I do about it.
That and this weekend he dedicated his services and body up to the abuse of women beating the "snot" out of him so that they could learn how to practice self defense. Now seriously - a person doesn't get much cooler than that.

I've worked with a number of CG's myself. I really think it's their attitudes. They are determined to have a good time no matter what and make a bad situation into a laughing situation. I think that's what makes them so appealing.
hmm, I would agree with what you say. I'd also disagree b/c I try to make everything into a positive situation but somehow still end up on the dorkier side of things... What say you to that?

What a great guy! What are his feelings on sperm donation to a couple of very nice lesbians in MN? "Nice" is my most important criteria for a donor, but I'll take the "cool" as a bonus!
And I thinks it is a happy combination of genetic disposition and upbringing that gives someone that "cool guy" attitude.
