Teen pregnancy is a huge issue in today’s society. Year after year, the number of pregnant teens is increasing. And I suppose year after year teenage girls don’t understand the consequences they will face when having intercourse without using the proper protection. It’s almost as if some of these teens are asking for pregnancy. There are ways to have intercourse, and not get pregnant. And I don’t understand why someone who is too young to have a child, would have unprotected sex knowing that the possibility of a baby popping out nine months later is dominant. If one thinks that they are mature enough to be involved in a sexual relationship with someone, then they should be mature enough to know all the consequences that are possible to occur. It’s not impossible to use a condom or birth control, or if you are even smarter than to abstain until you are ready to face the consequences that may occur. I would never risk my teenage life by having sex, and then watching my life go down the drain after that. Sure, there is abortion. However, abortion is murder. The killing of an innocent unborn infant is just as bad as the killing of a living breathing person. My advice is just to think before you undergo any sexual activity because you never know what might happen a few months down the road.

Everyone doesn't actually know that. Many people believe myths like:
You can't get pregnant your first time
Washing right after sex will keep you from getting pregnant
Pulling out is effective birth control
