I thought I would share a poem of mine :) I hope everyone likes it.
If I should Ever Love you
BY: Cassidy Daum
If I should ever love you
Will you return it to me?
Would you set a bouquet of wildflowers
down on my doorstep,
just because you saw them
and thought of me?
Would you take me into your arms
and spin me around in a frenzy
just because you thought
I would enjoy the spiral?
Would you bring me a bag of tea
to soothe me if I were sick
just because you knew
it would make me feel better?
Would you wrap your arms around me
to comfort and console me
just because you wanted
to feel me close to you?
If you should ever love me
Will I return it to you?
Would I surprise you with a kiss
a smile, a hug, and a laugh
just because I wanted
to show my feelings for you?
Would I walk along beside you
and hold your hand in mine
just because I knew
you would like me to?
Would I give you time with your friends
for you to have fun with them
just because I felt
You would like some time to yourself?
Would I press myself against you
and lean into your warmth
just because I knew
you would like me close to you?
I do not know if you would love me
I do not know if I would love you
But I do know that I can love
If you would want me to.

its so romantic
how sweet
I haven't had the time to read a poem in so long, so it was nice to run across yours. I am a fellow writer/artist as well. I like poems that seem to be directed to a particular person, but when a reader reads it they can direct it towards a personal part of their own life.
I really enjoyed at the end of the poem how you wrap it all up:
I do not know if you would love me
I do not know if I would love you
But I do know that I can love
If you would want me to.
Flawless.
It's like you are questioning yourself, contradicting yourself, and wanting to love all at the same time. You have inspired me to dust off and crack open my old notebook.
Keep them comming and I'll keep reading
