You define a nation’s worth
You incite mindless obsession—
A driving force in countless wars;
Magnify the slash of swords.
You are the salt of the earth
In lives, you drum out nights and days—
The sounds that light their countless eyes,
Veins imbued with vital brine.
Your single essence scattered
In every lap of thirsty tide,
Which leaps to free the nations’ souls;
Let your purpose be your own.
You are essential to what is,
And essential to what will be…
They fight wars for you.

i like your poem, it is very thoughtful and it has a good point
Thank you for your comment. It's a call for thought, for accepting the responsibility that is ubiquitous with being a member of society.

I like your poem because it kind of reminds me of myself and my good male friend because he totally cares about me, especially because one time, I thought that two of my female friends were angry at me for something I wrote in an email; therefore, I talked to him about it and he said that he would talk to them about it.
I really like your poem. I cant tell that you had a point to make and you were determined to make it. And you did!
I like your poem, it really says a lot about what you are trying to say with few words
It was very difficult, because I had to smoosh a list of things and ideas into a very small space; it took me two years before I reached the final edit.
I completly agree with this poem, your use of words is amazing, because while the words are deep of many thoughts, the meaning of the poem is very easy to understand.
