Hello people of the world,
Well this is part two of my last blog. And so it continues.
While I do not believe the same things you may believe, I don't have a problem with religion as a concept. I think in theory religion is actually a pretty good idea for those people who are unable to handle the reality of our shared existence. It is something that is comforting and provides answeres to the larger questions of life. It gives the people hope, so that they are motivated by both "faith" and fear. Why those two things? Well have you ever looked at a history text book, those are the primary motivators of people in pretty much any situation. Faith that something good will happen for an individual or community, or fear that something beyond absolute imaginable horror will happen.
The Abrahamic faiths have used both throughout history and continue to.
I also don't have a problem with most of the morals and values that most faiths on Earth teach. Be good, give back to your community, don't kill, don't steal, etc. Some of the more specific things I do disagree with. The more violent ones to be specific. NOt that I have a problem with violence or anything, I just don't think it should be preached by a religion.
This brings me to another point. I hate it when people bend their religious beliefs to fit some violent, political agenda. Religion is supposed to teach people to people to be good, not violent. The Islamic terrorists should go to their own hell for doing what they're doing. What in the world makes you think that God, who created everyone, wants you to do "his will"? HMM... If God didn't want these people to be alive like these people seem to think, why would he make them? 'To test our fate' says the hypothetical terrorist. Why would he need to do that, he's effening omniscient. He knows if you truly believe or not, there's no need to kill. It's pointless. I hate it when people use religion violently. It's stupid. I hate it, I could go on about other religions that do stupid violent acts ( Crusades, zionists, human scarafice), but I'll just stop. My point is clear, and you can always just look up more acts of violence commited for religious reasons on the interweb. I would suggest that you do, you may be humbled.
I think that humans are naturally violent animals, but that's only because we live in a violatile world. I think (know) that violence is part of the reason we have advanced so far. Every major technological advancement or improvement was due to organized violence called war. See the computer, radar, areonautics, swords, etc. I don't have a problem with violence when there is logic to it. And for those of you who think violence is stupid, you're stupid for denying part of your own humanity. Accept it. Getting rid of police or guns is not going to make people peaceful. They'll just find other ways to commit selfish acts of violence. I guess I believe in violence in self-defense individually or nationally. IT 's why I'm a black belt in a Mixed Martial Art. That's right suckers, I'll take you down if you mess with me. That's pretty much the only time it should be used. I guess revenge is sort of a grey area. REvenge makes for great story.
I think the USA needs another world superpower enemy. The COLd War. That was a fantastic period of history. So many great things were made. The hydrogen bomb, personal computers, MIGS, Star Wars, The doomsday clock, Regan joks. Good times. Man, we need Nazis again. Everyone could shoot Nazis. I wanna shoot Nazis. Mainly just because I'd like to experience everything, so at some point I want to shoot something.
I just found out that the Cylons on the reimagined Battlestar Galactica series have a religion. That's cool, you don't see religious machines that much.
Alright That's it for now. I'll try to pick something a little lighter next time. Or heavier. Depends on my mood.
See ya peoplez.
