When you think of eating disorders you probably think of Anorexia and Bulimia. I am sure you have heard statistics on how many people dies each year from these two diseases. Anorexia is the leading cause of death among the mental illnesses in young women.

However, there are two more eating disorders coming out from hiding, Binge Eating Disorder and Night Eating Syndrome. Both of these types of eating disorders don't lead to one becoming excessively thin, but to the contrary they lead you to become excessively overweight. This is just as much of an issue.

Someone who is excessively overweight is as just at rist for death as someone who is excessively thin. Being excessively overweight is usually called morbid obesity. Morbid obesity leads, ironically, problems with the same areas of the body as do people who are excessively thin. Troubles begin in their heart, with their hormones, emotions, ect...

I hope this opens people's eyes to see that eating disorders aren't just about being super skinning, most people who are morbidly obese (atleast 100lbs or more overweight) also suffer from an eating disorder and should seek treatment. The first type of people, the super skinny, they are the ones society worries about and rushes them off to receive treatment. The second group society shuns and outcasts and instead of wanting to help them mostly wishes they would disapear so their world would be pretty and beautiful.

Eating disorders tend to boil down to the same thing, all 4 of them, CONTROL. The people suffering form them need to feel like they have control over something in their life, even though eventually it backfires and they lose control and get very ill.
