Spiritual World

Is it just me or is the era of evolution fading a bit?  Don't get me wrong the theory of evolution is still there, but I can see our postmodern society beginning to lean towards a spiritual side of things.  Years ago scientists thought that by this time (2006) science would have disproved christianity and God, but it hasn't.  In fact it has only made the case for christianity even stronger.

We can see the shifting perception of spiritual matters on television.  Supernatural, teenage witches, crossing over... Belief in the spiritual realm is all over the TV.  It's  all over the world.  After years of communist rule, Russia is now more spiritually free than ever.

The question now is - What do we believe in?

I personally believe in Jesus Christ as my savior and my God.  Others are turning to dangerous areas, such as witchcraft and talking with the dead and many others.

While this world is changing drastically from day to day I hope and pray that these changes will lead more people to follow Christ than other things.

But, that's my opinion. I was a pagan for a while. Now I'm more of a skeptic existentialist. In other words, I don't really believe anything, but I'm inclined to think that nothing and no one can be proved or disproved. I'm like an agnostic, only I go further than "one cannot prove or disprove the existence of (a) god(s)" and apply it to many, many other things.

Since skepticism and existentialism do not have to be at odds with one another, I take the Sartrean existentialism as my main foundation. I believe that humans must make their own lives' meanings and that they are only equal to their own lives and what they do with them. I believe, then, that "man is condemned to be free," for he is forced to make what he will of his own life, with no super- or preternatural direction or guidance.

I also believe in the autonomy of the individual.

If I go on, I'd probably end up reciting some of Sartre's works. It'd be easiest just to google him or read about him on Wikipedia because I'd be parroting what he believed.

"Men become civilized, not in proportion to their willingness to believe, but in proportion to their readiness to doubt."

"Freedom of press is limited to those who own one."

H. L. Mencken

Things how strange that you would sense this because this is so true we are .and why, well look to what is starting to happen to this earth .people will soon in hundreds be looking for the truth why because we all want to be saved .and great will go forth this work of the Lord when many will come to the truth of his son Jesus Christ Amen

To start getting closer to the "I" self within, only to realize this is were we should have been all the time!
